It was, in a way, my baptism of fire. We caught an F4 hurricane as we got closer to the Caribbean, huge waves of around 12 meters at least, winds around 250 km/h. Nearly impossible to see anything as the skies were dark as if it was night, foam and rain all over… Fortunately, it was an older, sturdier ship with a deep draught (hull) of around 8 meters deep.
