Now I’m not glad that my African American Living my best life shirt. It did allow me to slow down and reinforced my connection to my family. In this, I’ve learned how beautiful each one of them is. My son is so helpful and smart and funny. My daughter is the kindest person I know. We keep a backpack in the car because if she sees a homeless person she wants to help. My son volunteers with a trap and release program. He goes out and gets stray cats, takes them to be fixed, then returns them. He’s incredible. There have been some very dark and difficult times in our household. Through it all, they’ve been there. Not just there but present. They’re good examples of kind and caring people.
